With the intention of validating the use of rebiana in consumer products, Chroma­Dex, Irvine, CA, has signed an exclusive agreement with Cargill, Minneapolis, MN, to supply global analytical reference standards and research materials for the individual sweet components of stevia. These new analytical reference methods will provide an industry standard for specifications of consistency and quality. The two companies will create the quality assurance and research tools necessary for analytical testing of stevia-based products, from raw material to finished sweeteners.
